Günter Veit was elected new Chairman of the VDMA Garment and Leather Technology Association

In October 2013 at the General Assembly of the VDMA Garment and Leather Technology Association, Günter Veit was elected new Chairman of the Association.

Klaus Freese, Managing Director of Klöckner Desma Schuhmaschinen GmbH, was elected as his Deputy.
Veit is taking over from Tilo Ullmer, owner and Managing Partner of PMF GmbH and FORTUNA Spezialmaschinen GmbH, who, after 13 years, is no longer entering the competition for the office of Chairman.
In line with policy, the entire Board of the VDMA Garment and Leather Technology Association has been elected anew. During Tilo Ullmer’s time in office, the industry in Germany has undergone a sustainable renaissance and has recovered its form, especially on the global markets.
“Garment and leather technology is doing better now than it has for a long time,” said Veit. “Flexibility, sustainability, productivity and high quality standards are key factors in the global success of Germany’s suppliers of high-tech machinery. German manufacturers always offer the innovative solutions that our customers need to be at the forefront of this highly competitive market.”
